摘要: Caffeine, a biologically active drug, is recognized as contaminant of freshwater and marine systems. We quantified caffeine concentrations in Oregon's coastal ocean to determine whether levels correlated with proximity pollution sources. Caffeine was analyzed at 14 locations, stratified between populated areas sources sparsely no major were measured water bodies discharging near sampling locations. seawater ranged from below the reporting limit (8.5 ng/L) 44.7 ng/L. occurrence did not correspond threats population density point non-point sources, but storm event occurrence. rivers estuaries draining coast 152.2 This study establishes waters, yet relative importance seasonal variability, processes affecting transport into require further research.
