摘要: Summary Purpose: To evaluate the prognosis of head and neck (HN) squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) diagnosed in young people (≤40 years), to compare it with typical older patients. Methods: The study population comprised 69 HN cancer patients below age 40 years. An equal-sized control group was pair-matched cases. Cases controls were compared for type frequency recurrence, addition survival. Tongue tumor specimens from 12 women (6 6 old) included a pilot immunohistochemical analysis estrogen receptors (ER) expression. Results: Young early (T1,T2) tongue had shorter overall survival (OS) than their matched controls, but finding marginally non-significant (p=0.056). In population, late metastasis particularly aggravating factor (p=0.004). case SCCs, at greatest risk recurrence any other gender-age combination (p=0.006). However, only 8.3% tumors expressed ER. Conclusion: Early-stage cancer, regional SCCs are negative prognostic factors Treatment modifications targeting these subgroups might be beneficial.
