摘要: Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 became considerably more sensitive to the action of ampicillin when grown in presence certain phospholipids. Only phospholipids capable forming lipid bilayers or micelles proved be enhancing activity. Of tested, 1-palmitoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phosphate, also called monopalmitoylphosphatidic acid (MPPA), was best enhancer. In absence MPPA, MIC and MBC for P. were 1 2 g/L, respectively. 20 40 mg/L, MPPA shown enhance activity by binding both Ca(2+) Mg(2+), suggesting that mechanism enhancement is similar previously reported Mg(2+) chelators. Surprisingly, itself slowed growth four mucoid multiply antibiotic-resistant strains recently isolated from sputum cystic fibrosis patients, enhanced their sensitivity piperacillin. It increased two ceftazidime-resistant ceftazidime.
