On the origin of the variation of the binding energy shifts of core levels between surface and bulk atoms in transition metals

摘要: Abstract We present here a model in which the change of binding energy core levels at surface is due to displacement d dand arises from narrowing density states. predict sign modification level shifts near middle series (i.e. between Ta and W 5d series). Finally, chemisorption effects are discussed.
