摘要: Positron emission tomography (PET) with 2-deoxy-2-[18sF]fluoro-D-glucose (18FDG) is an important imaging modality for diagnosis and staging of human neoplastic disease. The purpose this study to describe the normal 18FDG uptake in adult cats. Six healthy female cats were used. Cats sedated then injected intravenously 74.0 +/- 13.0 (mean SD) MBq 18FDG. General anesthesia was induced placed ventral recumbancy on PET scanner's bed. Static images using multiple bed positions acquired approximately 60-90 min after injection. A transmission scan at each position utilizing a 57Co point source perform attenuation scatter correction. Regions interest (ROIs) drawn over liver, right left renal cortices, ventricular wall, wall ascending descending colonic segments. Standardized values (SUV) calculated established formula. Kidneys intestinal tract had relatively intense 18FDG; liver activity intermediate; spleen not identified any Cardiac variable but noted myocardium most No appreciable lung noted. Mean SD SUV calculated. This pattern provided baseline data comparison future studies evaluating variety nonneoplastic diseases.
