摘要: Abstract Aim of the present work is to investigate mechanical and metallurgical characteristics continuous wave CO2 laser welded dissimilar couple AISI 304 stainless steel commercially pure copper sheets in autogenous mode. Metallurgical analysis fusion zone has been done understand mixing solidification behavior. Macroscopic examination carried out observe macro-segregation pattern Cu, Fe Cr rich phases different zones, thickness HAZ was found be around 10 µm. The micro-channels formed from side weld pool describe that solidifies first provides nucleation surface for residual melt grow. These tubular may due carbide precipitation. EDS conforms well SS Cu inside pool. properties terms tensile stress up 201 MPa fracture are obtained outside zone. Microhardness measurements over have keyhole growth quenching, sequence distribution full area.
