摘要: Postoperative biliary strictures usually present with jaundice and/or cholangitis. Surgical reconstruction of these mostly proximal is often associated high morbidity and mortality. In addition, restenosis after surgery common. We attempted endoscopic therapy in 63 consecutive patients benign strictures, by the placement one or multiple 10 French endoprostheses. The procedure was successful 54 out (86%) patients. All had rapid clearance and/ Follow-up study during a median period 32.5 (range, 1-96) months stent removal 35 showed 4 recurrent 5 stones. There low mortality procedures. Although an endoprosthesis this group technically difficult, we believe it should be considered as initial therapeutic modality. stents preferably left situ for 1 year to avoid restenosis.
