摘要: The presented study investigates the protective role of zinc (Zn) and selenium (Se) in attenuating benzene-induced toxicity rats. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were injected with benzene (0.5 mL/kg body weight ip) received a diet supplement containing Zn Se. Several hematological biochemical parameters (representing antioxidant status) estimated. Histopathological examinations performed. Results showed that food intake gain benzene-injected significantly lower than control Benzene-injected increased plasma malondialdehyde (MDA) decreased activity of: glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), catalase, superoxide dismutase (SOD) enzymes, as well reduced (GSH) when compared to group. investigations revealed structural changes rats' liver. Supplementation Se resulted significant decrease MDA, elevation GSH, GSH-Px, SOD catalase levels. This shows supplementation can improve enzymes histological anomalies induced by well.
