Model for Brillouin Scattering in Amorphous Solids

摘要: An elastic continuum model is presented for Brillouin scattering by an amorphous solid. The assumption that light scatters on distorted plane wave acoustic phonons leads to the prediction scattered intensity plotted as a function of frequency transfer Ωo consists usual peaks plus background which, t room temperature, goes like Ωo; small Ωo, but rises less steeply larger and may even bend over within range validity model, depending correlation lengths spatial fluctuations due disorder speeds sound. For case a-Si, additional results are obtained with help existing experimental measurements. Es wird die Brillouinstreuung in morphen Snbstanzen einem elastischen Kontinuums-modell diskutiert. Die Annahme, das Licht durch deformierte ebene Wellen beschriebenen akustischen Phononen gestreut wird, fiihrt zu folgenden Aussagen. Streuintensitiit als Funktion der Frequenzverschiebung besteht aus den ublichen Brillouin-Peaks und Hintergrund, der, bei Raumtemperaturen, fur kleine proportional Ω 2o ist. Mit wachsendem o wachst Hintergrund dam schwacher Ω2o. Jc nach Werten Korrelationslangen raumliche Fluktuationen Schallgeschwindigkeiten kanner im Giiltigkeitsbereich des Modells sogar Erreichen eines Maximums wieder abfallen. ZusaItzliche Aussagen werden Fall von a-Si unter Ausnutzung existierender Messungen gemacht.
