摘要: Fusarium and Aspergillus species of mold are major causes corneal infections in the United States worldwide, resulting severe visual impairment blindness. As there is evidence for T cell responses to these pathogenic fungi infected individuals, we examined role IL-17A (IL-17) IFN-γ murine models fungal keratitis. We found that C57BL/6 mice given intratracheal or s.c. immunization conidia prior infection exhibited enhanced killing lower opacity compared with unimmunized mice. Protective immunity was associated temporal recruitment IL-17–producing neutrophils Th17 Th1 cells dependent on production IL-17 but not IFN-γ. Protection also impaired neutrophil-depleted Rag 2 −/− Together, results studies identify an essential regulating growth hyphae severity disease.
