摘要: Boundary elements or insulators subdivide eukaryotic chromosomes into a series of structurally and functionally autonomous domains. They ensure that the action enhancers silencers is restricted to domain in which these regulatory reside. Three models, roadblock, sink/decoy, topological loop, have been proposed explain insulating activity boundary elements. Strong predictions about how boundaries will function different experimental contexts can be drawn from models. In studies reported here, we designed assays test predictions. The results our are inconsistent with expectations roadblock sink Instead, they support loop model.
