摘要: Phenylhydrazonopropanedinitrile, a model uncoupler of oxidative phosphorylation, was used in studies metabolic and physiological consequences uncoupling at the cellular level inCandida albicans. Concentrations stimulating respiration induce faster glucose consumption practically unchanged respiratory coefficient. The extracellular production acids is also without significant changes. When applying higher concentrations inhibited, similarly to acid production. This fact due nonspecific interactions alkylation type with mercapto groups functional proteins. Phenylhydrazonopropanedinitrile influences energy-generating processes resulting slowing down or interruption biosynthetic occasionally even growth ofCandida
