摘要: In this review, we argue that a number of current data support the notion hippocampal formations play an important role in episodic memory humans. We will focus on gathered from three topics within field: (1) neuropsychological study degenerative diseases, which provides striking dissociations processes, as function location cerebral lesions and their functional consequences; (2) description patients' difficulties after unilateral medial temporal lobectomy. Given visuo-verbal dissociation, may anticipate effects such help understanding hippocampus memory, terms of: (i) stage processing where is really involved (encoding, consolidation and/or retrieval); (ii) specificity impairments nature (verbal vs. visuo-spatial) to-be-remembered material; (3) recent evidence imaging studies: morphological approach, interesting information with correlations between volumes diverse regions-particularly volume hippocampus-and performance other cognitive measures; metabolic studies, using PET scan, were first designed for correlational analyses tasks glucose utilization at rest regions interest, formations; (iii) activation studies MRI, are actually more straightforward, since they allow metabolism interest line (e.g. during encoding or retrieval information). our view, inasmuch different approaches-degenerative imagery-provide convergent information, give renewed weight to according critically concerned processes.
