摘要: The lower esophageal sphincter (LES) is a specialized, thickened muscle region with high resting tone mediated by myogenic and neurogenic mechanisms. During swallowing or belching, the LES undergoes strong inhibitory innervation. In horse, seems to be organized as “one-way” structure, enabling only oral-anal progression of food. We characterized gastric pericardial excitatory intramural neurons immunoreactive (IR) for enzymes neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) choline acetyltransferase. Large percentages myenteric plexus (MP) submucosal (SMP) nNOS-IR were observed in esophagus (72 ± 9 69 8 %, respectively) stomach (57 17 45 3 respectively). esophagus, cholinergic MP SMP 29 14 65 24 vs. 36 38 20 % stomach, respectively. percentage nitrergic motor caudal reinforces role enteric nervous system horse relaxation. These findings might allow an evaluation whether selective groups are involved neurological disorders such megaesophagus, equine dysautonomia, white lethal foal syndrome.
