摘要: Dyslipidemia is becoming increasingly prevalent all around the world. Many of its possible causes are not linked to hormonal disequilibrium. However, hyperlipidemia can be related various diseases such as diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome and metabolic syndrome. Besides evident consequences cardiovascular diseases, dyslipidemia associated syndromes have also been with infertility [1,2]. Interestingly, dyslipidemia, or more precisely obesity, was considered deleterious for reproduction, far back beginning middle age. Indeed, Avicenna (c. 980–1037) reported on an overweight man that “has a cold temperament; this why he infertile, unable impregnate has low semen” (cited in [3]). Likewise, French Rabbi Levi ben Gershon (1288–1344) offered alternative explanation Sarah Rachel’s found Book Genesis. Ben “explained stemmed from their unhealthy medical condition obesity. Their husbands acquired concubines, wives lost weight out jealousy. Through loss, Rachel were consequently able become fertile conceive,” cited by Benhaghnazar [4]. Hence pointed long historical link between male female infertility.
