摘要: Although detergents are routine tools in biomembrane research, their use remains empirical. We propose that solubilization is the result of a balance between two parameters: (i) energy associated with bending phospholipid monolayers into curved micellar surface, and (ii) filling void center resultant mixed micelle. In this review, we show reliable data on phase boundaries, dependence various conditions, consistent hypothesis, even if might have been interpreted differently. most experimental discussed here were obtained non-ionic detergent Triton X-100, conclusions should be applicable to wide variety detergents.
