摘要: Objective: The aim of this narrative review is to summarize important findings from biochemical marker studies relevant osteoarthritis (OA) in the context new discoveries and clinical scientific need. Design: We conducted a systematic search electronic medical databases (Embase, Medline, Web Science, Cochrane central) between 01-03-2017 31-03-2018. was restricted human studies, English language full text available publications while reviews were excluded. Only papers describing protein based biomarkers measured body fluids (blood, urine synovial fluid (SF)) included. Of 992 papers, 86 reviewed here, with inclusion primarily on relevance OA markers. Results: This highlights selection their quality perceived importance field mainly including those that1 evaluate prognostic value for progression (i.e., reflecting change composition joint tissues inflammation)2, help assessment intervention efficacy, and3 are innovative uncover candidate biomarkers, or use approaches biomarker discovery. Conclusions: Key implications possible utility markers summarized discussed. Given paucity robust within field, heterogeneity condition, enormous works needed development validation novel clinically applicable reduce impact highly prevalent debilitating condition.
