摘要: Periradicular tissues from 28 refractory endodontic cases requiring surgical intervention were submitted for histological diagnosis and microbiological culture. Bacteria isolated these lesions identified then tested their antibiotic sensitivity to a panel of common antibiotics. The periapical tissue specimens 22 out (79%) contained microorganisms. Of the showing positive growth cultures, 15 polymicrobial 7 single species isolates. Fifty-three different recovered: 29 anaerobes, 19 facultative 5 aerobes. Microbes observed under light microscopy in only one case. most organisms Propionibacterium acnes, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus intermedius, Wolinella recta, Fusobacterium species, Clostridium species. Antibiotic susceptibility results showed no clear cut evidence significant resistance among tested. this study seem corroborate earlier studies regarding microbial population nonsurgical endodontics.
