摘要: We describe two human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected patients with syphilitic cerebral gummas. Both presented a seizure disorder associated an isolated, peripherally located, contrast-enhancing lesion of the brain on CT. Cranial MRI performed one patient revealed dural thickening in region lesion. A biopsy that lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate extensive perivascular inflammation. Clinical manifestations, radiographic resolution lesions, and decline nontreponemal serologic tests for syphilis followed high-dose aqueous penicillin therapy both patients. These illustrate (1) mass lesions occurring HIV infection may result from syphilis; (2) seizures be presenting manifestation this form neurosyphilis; (3) high-dose, intravenous, is effective treating these lesions.
