摘要: Lymph node enlargement is a common medical problem, and in large number of patients, the causes lymphadenopathy remain undiagnosed. We report thorough microbiological analysis 1,688 lymph biopsy specimens collected our bartonellosis reference center. studied samples from patients with suspected regional infectious January 2008 to December 2012. To evaluate useful strategy for diagnosis lymphadenitis, were cultured subjected molecular assays. Histologic was done when possible. A total 642 (38%) infected bacterial agent, quantitative PCR (qPCR) significantly better than 16S rRNA gene (rrs) detection Bartonella henselae (P = 0.05), Mycobacterium tuberculosis avium 0.007). Molecular assays cultures Francisella tularensis 0.017) but less effective detecting M. 0.004) 0.001). 412 nodes, 20% these compatible an whereas neoplasm found 29% nodes. detected more female male 0.01), cat scratch disease (CSD) younger tuberculosis, Tropheryma whipplei, F. tularensis. Negative rrs does not exclude lymphadenitis. critical, as lymphadenitis preclude other concurrent diseases.
