摘要: Gas-chromatographic and mass-spectrometric analysis of human fecal samples was performed to identify the volatile compounds responsible for odor. The identified with odor were methyl sulfides methanethiol, dimethyl disulfide, trisulfide. Skatole indole, benzopyrrole volatiles believed be odor, in fact elaborated a napthalenelike "mothball" crystalline state as well after purging from feces. A small amount hydrogen sulfide gas also samples. components are complex may influenced by dietary endogenous contributions. However, major rather than skatole indole is currently believed.
