摘要: Background Early detection of malignant transformation with expression biomarkers has significant potential to improve the survival rate patients as such enable prediction progression and assess sensitivity chemotherapy. The interferon inducible transmembrane protein 1 (IFITM1) been associated early invasion events in several carcinomas, including head neck cancers, hence proposed a novel candidate biomarker. As incidence oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is highest Indian population, we sought investigate: 1) pattern IFITM1 OSCC tissue samples obtained from Dravidian origin; 2) possibility using Materials methods Total RNA extracted thirty eight biopsy was subjected semi-quantitative RT-PCR GAPDH specific primers. Results Of that were analyzed, overexpression identified fifteen (39%). Seven expressed low level, while remainder high level IFITM1. Conclusions indicates may be explored for use confidence diagnostic biomarker cancers. To best our knowledge, this first time being reported samples.
