摘要: The International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility (IFMIF), presently in its Engineering Validation and Design Activities (EVEDA) phase under the frame of Broader Approach Agreement between Europe Japan, accomplished summer 2013, on schedule, EDA with release engineering design report IFMIF plant, which is here described. Many improvements from former phases are implemented, particularly a reduction beam losses operational costs thanks to superconducting accelerator concept, re-location quench tank outside test cell (TC) tritium inventory simplification replacement case failure, separation irradiation modules shielding block gaining flexibility enhancement remote handling equipment reliability cost reduction, water cooling liner biological TC, enhancing efficiency economy related sub-systems. In addition, maintenance strategy has been modified allow shorter yearly stop operations more careful management irradiated samples. plant intimately linked EVA carried out since entry into force IFMIF/EVEDA June 2007. These last activities their on-going accomplishment have thoroughly described elsewhere (Knaster J et al [19]), which, combined present paper, allows clear understanding maturity European–Japanese international efforts. This released Intermediate Report (IIEDR), could be complemented if required concurrently outcome EVA, will decision making construction and/or serve as basis for definition next step, aligned evolving needs our fusion community.
