摘要: Abstract The reaction of amino acids with Raney nickel has been carefully studied and the conditions most suitable for specificity determined. Two different grades have compared. One grade was prepared by addition sodium borohydride to acetate other W 6 nickel. Reaction at pH 5.0, 7.0 8.0 40°. efficient were Cystine completely converted alanine in 4 min. No appreciable differences found rates desulfurization methionine which extremely low. At 22° or lower, showed a high degree cystine desulfurized 12 min (at 22°) while essentially unchanged even after 10 h reaction. applied specific cysteine (or cystine) residues hemoglobin, lysozyme α-lactalbumin, respectively.
