摘要: ABSTRACT Glycosylation is a common post-translational protein modification and many key proteins of the immune system are glycosylated. As true experts our system, pathogenic bacteria produce enzymes that can modify carbohydrates (glycans) defense mechanisms in order to favor bacterial survival persistence. At intersection between pathogenesis glycobiology, there an increased interest studying glycosylation their colonized or infected hosts. This great importance fully understand pathogenesis, but it also presents itself as valuable source for glycoengineering glycoanalysis tools. article highlights role glycosidases during infections, introduces use such tools discusses potential further studies this emerging field.
