摘要: The role of radiation in the treatment squamous cell carcinoma esophagus was examined a review 74 patients treated with curative intent between 1974 and 1981. Aspects studied included pattern failure, use as surgical adjuvant, achievement palliation, presence technical or clinical factors predicting for better outcome. group divided into 9 irradiated after esophageal resection, 14 before 51 no resection. Median 2-year survival rates among by without esophagectomy were 8.8 months 11%, whereas they 9.7 0% followed 9.5 28% undergoing resection radiation. Local failures suffered 28/51 2/4, 7/10, 7/15, 5/10 50-55 Gy, 55-60 60-65 65-69 respectively. Although prognosis presenting unresectable disease remains poor, somewhat outcome may be expected postoperative potentially unfavorable resections. Other predictors include sex stage.
