摘要: The choice of treatment for patients with cancer the esophagus and cardia is controversial. Since overall survival poor, most important aim should be improvement main complaint: inability to eat. In a retrospective analysis 265 patients, referred University Hospital in Leiden, Netherlands, comparisons were made between palliative effects surgical resection (N = 92) irradiation 128). Several methods comparing surgery are possible: (1) all vs. irradiated patients; (2) only those who survived operation 70) 128); (3) survivors after treated "curative" radiation 62).
