Renovascular disease: Doppler ultrasound

摘要: Color Doppler ultrasound (CDUS) seems to be an effective imaging technique for the diagnosis of renal vascular diseases. It is already modality choice detection acute vein thrombosis and nonocclusive intrarenal disorders including iatrogenic arteriovenous fistula false aneurysm, particularly in patients with impaired function that precludes use iodinated contrast agents. Although proximal interrogation remains important step diagnosing artery (RA) stenosis, useful hemodynamic information can obtained from distal arterial bed. When CDUS fails identifying RAs, normal waveform velocity morphology arteries enable one rule out RA occlusion most severe stenoses (> or = 80%). Such information, which not subject a significant risk technical failure, studying failure suspected origin. Despite extreme variability reported performance between studies, has seemed valuable tool compared other noninvasive modalities stenosis. Whereas CDUS-based strategy accepted numerous specialized centers, thorough evaluation diagnostic criteria extensive training operators will allow widely screening at high renovascular hypertension.
