摘要: Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) affects 15-20% of adolescents-disproportionately girls-and is a strong predictor eventual suicide attempts and suicide. Many girls now initiate NSSI before age 10. These early-starters exhibit greater frequency NSSI, use more diverse methods, are hospitalized often, yet there no empirically supported prevention programs for preadolescents. Obstacles to include ascertaining who sufficiently vulnerable specifying mechanistic intervention targets. Recent research indicates that (1) preadolescent with ADHD also maltreated at alarming risk by adolescence, (2) the conjoint effects these vulnerabilities potent targeted prevention. Research existing interventions effective in altering child- family-level mechanisms NSSI. alter neurobiological markers vulnerability, which can be used as proximal efficacy signals response, without waiting emerge.
