摘要: Abstract Biodiversity conservation is challenging in urbanizing landscapes where recurring habitat degradation occurs and space limited for subsequent restoration. Conservation efforts based on natural reserves may not be able to maintain certain ecological processes that extend beyond the reserves. There an urgent need conserve or restore critical habitats outside of protected areas functional connectivity networks. In this study, we developed a modelling approach associated with varying scenarios establish priorities rapidly area Shenzhen, China. We incorporated unprotected patches into reserve network via four prioritized contributions these connectivity. also investigated responses species different dispersal abilities changes under each scenario. The results showed spatial pattern played important role enhancing entire within study area. around could create greater gains should conservation. key substantially enhance were identified as special concerns. benefits from closely linked abilities. This promotes understanding importance provides species-specific spatially explicit schemes making informed decisions urban planning management.
