摘要: Background: Patients with large congenital melanocytic nevi (LCMN) are at greater risk for the development of malignant melanoma (MM) than persons in general population. Objective: Our purpose was to identify clinical features LCMN those patients whom MMs actually developed. Methods: The records 117 New York University Registry and reports 172 cases world literature were studied. Results: Of 289 studied, 34 (12%) had primary cutaneous within their nevi; two additional patients, developed sites other nevi. All MM axial locations; however, 91 % axial. No found that arisen any 26 confined extremities. In addition, no thousands satellite Conclusion: When develops an LCMN, it generally does so location. absence arising extremities suggests such represent lower lesions, but number extremity analyzed too small allow definitive conclusions. A striking finding
