摘要: Background. Alterations in the activity of transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) humans have been implicated fibrosis, immunosuppression, development cancer, and other disorders. Scirrhous gastric carcinoma is characterized by cancer cells that infiltrate rapidly stroma with extensive fibroblasts fibrous tissue. Hence, majority studies examining role TGF-β focused on scirrhous carcinoma. Methods. We undertook a retrospective immunohistochemical study order to characterize expression malignant lesions determine whether was related disease progression. Results. carcinomas significantly higher than nonscirrhous carcinomas. In patients advanced surgically curative resection, those who developed peritoneal recurrence after surgery did not develop such recurrence. Patients expression-positive tumors had poorer survival expression-negative (P = 0.017). addition, multivariate Cox proportional hazard model analysis showed status an independent prognostic 0.0031). Conclusion. These data suggest may contribute, part, variations histogenesis prevalence dissemination
