摘要: Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) communication delays and data frame losses play a critical role in designing of wide-area damping systems driven by synchrophasor technology. While there are plethora simulation-based studies addressing this issue, empirical results from actual PMUs deployed the field rare. This paper provides important insights into characterization PMU based on collected utility IP network. Additionally, efforts also made to elicit design requirements considering above quality problems. Furthermore, three distinct delay-robust control schemes parameterized according proposed validated against losses. Time-domain simulation suggest that question can effectively stabilize power system all tested scenarios.
