摘要: Analysis to date on the impact of a pronounced skeletal dentofacial deformity quality life remains inadequate. The objective this study was introduce validated and internationally comparable questionnaire for assessment of life, and use in a consecutively-selected patient cohort. Orthognathic Quality Life Questionnaire (OQLQ) used translated into German and adapted accordance with EU guidelines (OQLQ-G). A total 50 patients (f = 25, m 25) indicated combined orthodontic surgical treatment were included study. In addition assessment individual questions, patients were classified according following categories: (1) perception of malocclusion, (2) masticatory function, (3) esthetics, and (4) social aspects. statistics assessed software SPSS® 15.0 (chi-squared test; p 0.05). Patients pronounced malocclusion demonstrated considerably high awareness degree the deformity. Responses frequently severe very severe functional restrictions (50.4%) and/or esthetic impairment (43.0%). With regard aspects, responders also reported a reduction life. An internationally-comparable quality of jaw discrepancy was carried out German-speaking countries. This pilot demonstrates that their is significantly impaired.
