Changes in quality of life after orthognathic surgery: a comparison based on the involvement of the occlusion

摘要: Objectives The aims of this study were to investigate the impact dentofacial deformities on quality life in Chinese patients and make a comparison between facial that do not involve occlusion. Study design Consecutive with requiring surgical correction divided into 2 groups. Group A represented those who had undergone presurgical orthodontic treatment, group B square faces or prominent zygoma. All subjects assessed by 36-item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) 22-item Orthognathic Quality Life Questionnaire (OQLQ-22) during time periods: preoperatively 6-8 months postoperatively. Results The SF-36 revealed there was significant difference role physical bodily pain (P < .05) groups, whereas postoperatively significant. Preoperatively, oral function esthetics components OQLQ .001), only domain showed difference. Conclusions Orthognathic surgery positive patients' regardless type deformity. better discerning ability able point out subtle differences
