摘要: PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Cough lasting more than 8 weeks is a common presenting complaint to the otolaryngologist. Historically, chronic cough has been attributed post-nasal drip, laryngopharyngeal reflux and cough-variant asthma. This study reviews from viewpoint of an RECENT FINDINGS: More recent studies suggest influence laryngeal neuropathy its interplay with reflux. There limited evidence for drip or asthma causing cough. SUMMARY: In this study, we review cause cough, as well up date techniques otolaryngologist, including transnasal esophagoscopy, assess patient in clinic allowing accurate diagnosis. Treatment options otolaryngologist are discussed role multidisciplinary input emphasized.
