摘要: This study quantifies the concentrations of circulating insulin, growth hormone, glucose, free fatty acids, glycerol, beta-hydroxybutyrate, acetoacetate, and alpha amino nitrogen in 11 obese subjects during prolonged starvation. The sites estimated rates gluconeogenesis ketogenesis after 5-6 wk fasting were investigated five subjects. Blood glucose insulin fell acutely 1st 3 days fasting, 17 days. concentration acetoacetate did not reach a plateau until Estimated production at starvation is reduced to approximately 86 g/24 hr. Of this amount liver contributes about one-half kidney remainder. Approximately all lactate, pyruvate, acid carbons which are removed by converted into as evidenced substrate balances across these organs.
