摘要: In this study we compared the strength of association constitutional factors and sun exposure with cutaneous malignant melanoma (CMM) basal cell carcinoma (BCC). We analysed 260 incident cases CMM, 425 BCC two sets population controls from previous case-control studies conducted in Turin, Italy. Simultaneous comparison was accomplished by comparing separate simple logistic polytomous regressions. Tendency to sunburn shown be most important risk indicator for both types tumours, being associated a two- three-fold increase CMM two-fold BCC. Intermittent intense exposure, as during beach holidays, increased BCC, while prolonged sun, outdoor occupations, not or The holidays occurred mainly childhood cases, it also continued adulthood. Analysis independent effect confirmed role skin phenotype (eye colour odds ratio [OR] = 1.6, tendency OR 2.1) intermittent (sunburns 3.8, 1.2) CMM. Risk showed significant when exceeded threshold about 3500 h cumulated lifetime. contrast, is less strong, but hours lifetime constant rise an early plateau at low level. 1998 Lippincott Williams & Wilkins
