摘要: Abstract In this study we determine the total (direct plus indirect) energy requirements of a given set Brazilian households. We use generalized input–output model in order to calculate embodied goods and services purchased by households different income level 11 capital cities Brazil. Our results show that, on average, intensity household expenditure increases with level, although there is considerable spread intensities within classes as well disparities between regions country. The yearly average requirement per Brazil 1995–96 was 173.6 GJ (61% which indirect), 32.8 GJ for lower (66% 602.2 GJ higher (62% indirect). Of requirement, 76% required only three consumption categories: utilities (31%), mobility (28%) shelter (17%). This analysis calls attention that has be not direct (as motor fuels electricity, example) but also categories encompass an important part indirect
