摘要: Proteomics has emerged from the labs of technologists to enter widespread application in clinical contexts. This transition, however, been hindered by overstated early claims accuracy, concerns about reproducibility, and challenges handling batch effects properly. New efforts have produced sets performance metrics measurements variability that establish sound expectations for experiments proteomics. As researchers begin incorporating these a quality design paradigm, individual steps experimental pipelines will be reduced, regularizing overall outcomes. review discusses evolution assessment 2D gel electrophoresis, mass spectrometry-based proteomic profiling, tandem protein inventories, quantitation. Taken together, advances each technologies are establishing databases increasingly useful decision-making experimentation.
