摘要: In maize, the Rp3 gene confers resistance to common rust caused by Puccinia sorghi. Flanking marker analysis of rust-susceptible rp3 variants suggested that most them arose via unequal crossing over, indicating is a complex locus like rp1. The PIC13 probe identifies nucleotide binding site-leucine-rich repeat (NBS-LRR) family maps complex. show losses members relative resistant parents when probed with PIC13, member this family. Gel blots and sequence suggest at least 9 are in Rp3-carrying lines 5 these transcribed Rp3-A haplotype. coding regions 14 members, isolated from three different haplotypes, had DNA identities 93 99%. Partial sequencing clones BAC contig spanning maize inbred line B73 identified five paralogues region approximately 140 kb.
