摘要: Subsidies for research and development (R&D) are an important tool of public R&D policy, which motivates extensive scientific analyses evaluations. This article adds to this literature by arguing that the effects subsidies go beyond extension organizations’ monetary resources invested into R&D. It is argued collaboration induced subsidized joint projects yield significant missed in traditional analyses. An empirical study on level German labor market regions substantiates claim, showing collaborative impact regions’ innovation growth when providing access related variety embedding central positions cross-regional knowledge networks.
