Merkel cell carcinoma: the clinical course.

摘要: Merkel first discovered the cells named after him in snout skin of voles 1875. These are thought to originate from neural crest and act as mechanoreceptors. When they have undergone malignant change, neurosecretory granules cytoplasm may release various polypeptides, suggesting that tumor is an APUDoma. In a computer search literature 121 cases were identified. It was revealed most common lesion erythematous nodule arising face or lower limb occurring predominantly women their late 60s. The regional nodes became involved half patients, three-year survival approximately 60%. Two unusual cases, 72 73 years old respectively, with metastasizing lesions responded combination surgery radiotherapy reported, discussed.
