摘要: Previous serosurveys of antibody to HIV-1 among incoming male inmates in Maryland between April and June 1985, 1986 1987 have shown a prevalence 7.0, 7.7 7.0%, respectively, with stability persisting after multivariate adjustment. To investigate seasonality update annual trends, excess sera were obtained from August 1988. Correctional personnel also provided demographic variables age, race, offense, category, jurisdiction. Once rendered anonymous, specimens assayed for using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay Western blot. For the 12-month study period, 415 (7.9%) 5262 consecutive entrants seropositive. On univariate analyses, no significant change seroprevalence or risk by subgroup was noted month season. data 1988, 113 (8.1%) 1398 demonstrated anti-HIV-1; seropositivity associated age greater than 25 years, Black Baltimore No found over time infection analysis combining 1985-1988. These provide additional evidence suggest prison entrants.
