摘要: The genus Beta L. is a morphologically and genetically variable group composed of wild, weedy, domesticated forms that are used for sugar production or as vegetables. In this study, we have evaluated genetic variation in 64 germplasm accessions wild do- mesticated beets examined the origin beet California using allozyme analysis. UP- GMA analysis showed overall form coherent groups. Wild two different origins, from European vulgaris macrocarpa.Population-level patterns related to B. suggest those populations evolved naturalized cultivated ssp. which had hybridized varying degrees with sea maritima. macrocarpa es- sentially identical accessions. addition, found substantial evidence hybridization introgression alleles one macro- carpa accession California. obligate outcrosser exhibits more allelic diversity than self- compatible macrocarpa. vulgarisssp. maritima vul- garis vulgaris.
