摘要: The traits of Beta maritima have been reviewed and summarized from a number recent classical publications dealing with the ecology, morphology, whole-plant physiology species. Because few papers written only on sea beet, B. maritima, most information comes cultivated forms vulgaris. A striking feature gleaned this review is how variable adaptive it is. species fairly plastic allowing to live in many different environments. This capacity for adaptation has correlated its breeding system, which allows beet rapidly change reproduction systems, flowering time, life span, etc. according local environmental conditions. evident observer differences between Mediterranean populations easy bolting, short cycles, those coasts northwest Europe. chapter provides reader comprehensive overview plant answer question: “What maritima?”
