摘要: Abstract The physisorption of Xe on W(111) and partial layers oxygen chemisorbed has been studied using flash desorption work function methods. It found that xenon adsorbs up to monolayer coverages at 104K. Xenon desorbs from as a single binding state following first order kinetics. At low (θ > 0.07 the data fit rate expression with energy 9.3 kcal/mol preexponential ν = 10 15 s −1 . observed change −1.1 ± 0.1 eV is consistent estimates reported in field emission studies physisorbed tungsten. effect preadsorbed this surface very striking. shifts much 50% higher for moderate exposure oxygen. Several models are explored along dispersion electrostatic interaction contributions.
