摘要: The work described here presents the toxic effect of Mathura refinery wastewater (MRWW) in plant (Allium cepa), bacterial (E. coli K12) and human (blood) system. samples were collected from adjoining area refinery, Dist. Mathura, U.P. (India). Chromosomal aberration test micronucleus assay (A. cepa) system, E. K12 survival as well hemolysis blood employed to assess toxicity MRWW. MRWW exposure resulted formation micronuclei bridges chromosomes A. cepa cells. A significant decline occurred DNA repair defective mutants exposed On incubation with MRWW, calf thymus DNA-EtBr fluorescence intensity decreased percent cells increased. An induction MDA levels treated roots indicated lipid peroxidation also. Collectively, results demonstrate a genotoxic cytotoxic potential
