摘要: Evaluation of groundwater resources in dry areas without enough data is a challenging task many parts the world, including Tehran–Karaj plain Iran, which includes Tehran, capital city Iran and Karaj, one Iran’s biggest cities. Water demand due to increasing agricultural industrial activities caused problems field water management. In this study, potential was evaluated using remote sensing, geographic information system (GIS), analytic hierarchy process (AHP) for first time. Digital Elevation Model from Shuttle Radar Topography Mission used generate slope map drainage density map. Three Landsat-8 satellite images were utilized provide lineament land cover/land use maps. Geological soil type maps provided Survey Mineral Explorations (GSI). Tropical Rainfall Measuring prepare average annual precipitation Discharge values 102 pumping wells time period 2002–2014 evaluate results. Seven layers prepared, geodatabase made GIS. The their classes assigned weights AHP method. Finally, overlaid based on weights, generated. area classified into five zones with very high, moderate, low, low potentials. covered 5.95, 32.90, 22.70, 10.20, 28.25% study area, respectively. results showed good agreement obtained discharge wells.
