Numerical calculation of gravity-capillary interfacial waves of finite amplitude

摘要: Gravity‐capillary progressive interfacial waves on the interface between two semi‐infinite fluids of different densities are considered. An integro‐differential equation for unknown shape is derived. By introducing a mesh and finite difference, this converted into set nonlinear algebraic equations. These equations solved by Newton’s method. In limiting case pure gravity waves, results obtained in good agreement with previous calculations. Two continuous families capillary‐gravity studied. A generalization Wilton’s ripples presented.
